We are conducting an experiment investigating the relationship between heat tolerance and phenology of Rhododendron species. We are wondering if folks are aware of existing databases or published papers with this type of information, to help us design our experiment and identify what to expect in terms of when the plants will flower?

Thank you robbie that is a great suggestion! Unfortunately for me this project got sacked three days after I made this post due to coronavirus...but we'll get back to it very soon!

Edinburgh has data on phenology from their living collections. Although I imagine the mortality has been limited, I imagine their living collections management system also has records of this, and it should be possible to reconstruct recent extreme heat events. That may not get you many data points, but could be helpful.
